Toute L’Anne is French for “Holiday Year-Round” and the fashion designer duo at Dur Doux are bringing this theme to life in their new Autumn/Winter 2023 collection as they inspire a collaboration between fashion and travel.
Fashion designers Cynthia and Najla Burt are a mother-daughter duo who have had a love for fashion and designing clothes for many years. The designers styled matching pink outfits to make a statement at the collection reveal on Sunday, February 12, during New York Fashion Week.
Over the past few years, the pandemic has changed people’s everyday lives, especially due to travel restrictions.. The anticipation for the post-pandemic world has inspired the two women to dedicate a collection towards luxury escapism and further travels in fashionable clothing.
This season’s collection consists of 25 designs that provide a classic and versatile look that people can casually wear during the day, or as evening dresses for a fancy night. The two-piece set modeled above features a dyed pattern with colors that remind viewers of a tropical vacation. The model paired this look with magenta pink heels during the show.
The bright yellow and orange-gold sunset colors reappeared multiple times throughout the designs, designed in the form of sequins and sparkly metallic dresses. The simple, yet elegant designs of the long dresses showcased solid colors, but with specific elements of the design to make it unique. The v-neck cutouts, open shoulder, and monochromatic styles were a favorite of the designers.
Adding onto the sequins and off shoulder look, this design further presented a bold zebra print in dark purple and silver. The finishing touch on the dress was the side slit that was not too deep or apparent, which created a distinctive design. The zebra print was an eye-catching show starter in the black and dark green color as well.
Luxurious travel destinations inspired other designs from the collection varying in warm floral styles. The models all had colorful eye and lip makeup colors to create a unique, powerful look. Dur Doux aims to present a balance of hard and soft elements in their designs, while leaving a sophisticated feminine signature.
