5 Designs You Must See From the Cucculelli Shaheen FW ‘23 Les Radiants at NYFW

Crystalled dresses stunned the audience during the Cucculelli Shaheen Collection Fifteen Runway Show at Webster Hall on February 13. Inspired by chaos and classicism, the designs drew eyes on the models as the runway took a twist with a live rock performance.
One of the most iconic looks from the collection was the grand finale. The details of the dress and the hair accessories were immaculately paired, leaving a strong impression on viewers. The subtleness of the black dress and the contrast with the gold crystals on the cutout details balanced out, while accentuating the hips of the model.
The model’s hair was decorated with a variety of gold chains and accessories that hung from her hair. Reminiscent of Medusa’s snake locks, the model’s charismatic hair style included tight braids shaped into rays around her head.
Another design that caught the attention of viewers was the champagne sheer slip dress with floor-length sleeves. The designers created an elegant and feminine look with the effortless silhouette that flowed while the model walked down the runway. Although the look was sheer and close to a neutral color, the meticulous metallic lining details along the dress added a special touch.
The black and metallic caped dress featured a drop-waist corset design adding depth and elegance to the dress. The dress had gold and silver metal domes and rings all around the dress and under the cape of the dress, the minidress ended above the knees with sheer legging details at the bottom.
Multitudes of art inspired this new Fall/Winter collection, titled Les Radiants, representing a “radiant sun collection.” Designers Cucculelli and Shaheen drew inspiration from artists known for playing with light and shadow such as Baroque painter Georges de La Tour and contemporary visual artist Christopher Bucklow. The ruby red dress featured thin cut outs near the shoulders of the dress and showcased big crystals spaced throughout the dress.
New York City itself also inspired the imagery in the passage of the sun from night to day. This gold radiating sun motif dress was fully embellished and incorporated different textures of the crystals to emphasize the sun.
