A Lover Girl’s Valentines Day Style Guide

When I think of February, only two things come to mind: pink and red. Valentines Day, the renowned holiday of love, sweets, and gorgeous bouquets, is to blame for this occurrence. Personally, I’ve always believed that pink and red are associated with Valentine's Day because the colors are perceived as feminine, they represent the heart and soul of a woman: the epitome of love, warmth, and poetic beauty. As a woman myself, it’s hard to break away from the two colors in general. My clothes, accessories, room and even the desserts I eat fall victim to these notable colors year-round.

With Valentine's Day around the corner, going out with the girls or getting dinner with that special someone is going to require a killer outfit. Let’s talk about how to incorporate these lovely colors into your wardrobe for the occasion, here are 5 simple and chic outfit ideas that will make your day of love even more special:

  1. A Night Out With The Girls

One of the best ways to spend your Valentine's Day is a night out with your girlfriends filled with laughs, champagne and all the sweets you can ask for. Whether you're going out for drinks or kicking back and watching a heartwarming rom-com, this outfit is perfect for whatever event the girls have planned. The soft touch of pink is what truly makes this outfit heavenly, a pink ribbon in the hair or even a dainty pink necklace will do just the trick.

2. Dinner Date

It can be super nerve-racking while deciding what to wear for a date with a boy, anxious feelings tend to cloud our judgment and keep us from deciding on an outfit. One of the easiest and most versatile outfit choices is a dress, but it can also leave us feeling bored. With that being said, there are many ways you can accessorize and jazz up a plain old dress. Some of my favorite ways would include adding a pair of tights, chunky jewelry, headbands and knit boleros. This outfit is effortlessly ravishing and will have your date OBSESSED.

3. Picnic On The Beach

One of my favorite date ideas ever will forever be a picnic on the beach at sunset. There’s something about being with the one I love and watching the marvelous waves of the ocean as the sun shines over them that just makes me melt. Since this kind of date can get cold very fast and the prolonged sitting on the sand can get tiring, it’s important to make sure you come prepared. Long skirts and oversized jackets are a great touch to an outfit for any special occasion that needs to accommodate the chilly weather. On that note, this outfit is the perfect choice to keep you comfortable and warm and looking absolutely stunning.

4. Date Night At Home

Who doesn’t love a cozy night in on Valentine's Day? A homemade candlelit dinner, freshly dipped chocolate strawberries, cuddling in front of the fire while watching romance classics; it truly sounds like a perfect evening. Putting together a cute and comfortable outfit for this kind of date can be tough, but not impossible. A cotton romper is a great choice as it is super comfortable, sculpts your body perfectly and is so easy to accessorize. If you’re staying in this Valentines Day and are looking for a classy but casual look, this outfit is the one for you.

5. Brunch

While brunch is typically not the most popular date on Valentines Day, it is definitely one of the greatest. A Valentine's brunch is the perfect excuse to drink mimosas, pick out lovely bouquets and get all dressed up and pretty at 11:30 AM. The best colors to wear on this type of date are definitely pastels, and since we're talking Valentine’s Day, light pinks are the best way to go. If you’re going to a brunch date on this year’s day of love, this stunningly pink outfit is definitely a must.
