Wonderfully humble, Evangelista doesn’t subscribe to the labels and pressure of being a “style icon.” She views fashion as a creative outlet that she can use to express herself alongside her painting abilities. As an artist, she uses fashion and painting as a way to tell stories about life and represent important emotions without any rules. She believes that self expression is important because “you paint for yourself, and not for the world.” In addition, as someone with anxiety and depression, she has used creativity, as well as the gift of time, to help her overcome her mental struggles.
